Executing applications on remote end

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: anonymous
Priority: major (affects peripheral workflow) Milestone: 2.0 Extra features
Component: remote folder Version: 0.4.0

This feature would make swish a very nice integrated solution for server admins using a lot of shell scripts/applications, being able to use explorer to run applications on their servers just by double clicking them (Using SSH: PuTTY, or a custom built console interface implemented in Swish?) I'm planning to do the mod myself when I have the time, but you might like the idea as well, so here I am suggesting it :)

Good idea.

I won't have time to implement this any time soon but feel free to have a go.

I wouldn't have it execute the script on the server on double-click though. Instead have it as a second "Open" option that you get at through the context menu. Something like "Open on server". The double-click default should remain what users are expecting, which is that the file will do whatever it's supposed to do locally.
