I tried to edit a file within the folder, but when I try to open it with notepad++... it shows up blank... It probably is related to the same bug as mentioned before about not having an open with menu...
I can't seem to be able to edit anything directly out of the sftp folder.
Hope that makes sense.

How are you opening it? By double-clicking the file in Explorer?
I can't seem to be able to edit anything directly out of the sftp folder.
I still not clear what you mean. What is 'editing directly'? Double-clicking the file to open it and then editing it in the program that appears? Or something else?

Opening in notepad++ does not work... it just opens the program to a new document... instead of the document on the host

I couldn't edit .php files, as they appeared as unknown file types (also trying to open with Notepad++ and Notepad), because they hasn't been associated with a program; so an error dialog said there isn't an associated program to open the file. Then, another one appears and said that I might not have permissions (I was connected with the root user). And showed an exception (attached).
I associated the file type with Notepad++ and now I'm able to open those files, but only as read-only.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

We need more detail to understand this bug report. How are you trying to open the files? What do you mean by 'editing live'?
